ARTIST STATEMENT
It began with a childhood ritual: wandering in search of wildflowers and arranging them into small bouquets to offer my mother. Beneath this simple act lived a longing to be seen and to feel that my offering was enough. As I grew older, this desire transformed into a constant search for validation through the approval of others, a need for recognition that I am now learning to release.
The Garden of Longing Delights emerges from a desire to return to that first gesture, not to seek something outside myself, but to find refuge within. Through the slow, meticulous process of shaping porcelain, I create an intimate space where making becomes a contemplative act—a moment of stillness to hold memory, tenderness, and longing without the need for explanation.
The garden exists as a physical and emotional landscape where vulnerability can settle and repetition becomes meditation. The child who once gathered flowers for someone else meets the adult who creates for herself, discovering a sense of belonging that no longer depends on being seen, but on the quiet care we learn to extend to ourselves.
