Collection: Taibe Palacios

BIO

Born in Santiago, Chile, Taibe Palacios initially trained in graphic design before turning entirely to contemporary jewelry, further refining her studies in Chile and Canada (George Brown College, Toronto).

Her pieces challenge traditional hierarchies of value in jewelry, transforming fragile natural elements into portable architectures that converse with memory and inner geographies. Winner of international awards and selected for major European showcases (such as the Enjoia't awards in Barcelona and the FIO prize in Brazil), her works have been exhibited in galleries and museums worldwide. She lives and works in Barcelona, where she combines studio practice with teaching creative jewelry and serves on the board of directors of JoyaBrava.

ARTIST STATEMENT

Desert Traces (2026), an intimate tribute to the Atacama Desert. Crafted from gathered seaweed from the Chilean coast, the pieces translate into a portable scale the intricate furrows and patterns sculpted by desert winds, reflecting how the landscape records time through texture and movement.

Desert Traces is conceived as a portable shelter and an intimate space for introspection held in the palm of a hand. The fragility of organic matter is transformed into a small terrain for contemplation, inviting the wearer to wander through the senses and discover, within slow craftsmanship and bodily touch, a quiet geography of protection.
